Elements of Electromagnetics by Matthew Sadiku

The basic objective of this text is to present the concepts of electromagnetics in a style that is clear and interesting to read. Thoroughly updated and revised, this two-semester approach to fundamental concepts and applications in electromagnetics begins with vector analysis which is then applied throughout the text. A balanced presentation of time-varying fields and static fields prepares students for employment in today's industrial and manufacturing sectors. Mathematical theorems are treated separately from physical concepts. Students, therefore, do not need to review any more mathematics than their level of proficiency requires. Student-oriented pedagogy comprises: chapter introductions showing how the forthcoming material relates to the previous chapter; summaries; boxed formulas; and multiple choice review questions with answers allowing students to guage their comprehension. Many new problems appear for the first time in this second edition.
Matthew N. O. Sadiku is a professor at Prairie View A & M University in Prairie View, Texas. He received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN in 1982 and 1984 respectively. Before joining Prairie View, he taught at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and Temple University in Philadelphia. He is the author of over 480 professional papers and over 70 books including Elements of Electromagnetics (Oxford University Press, 7th ed., 2018), Fundamentals of Electric Circuits (McGraw-Hill, 6th ed., 2017 with C. Alexander), Computational Electromagnetics with MATLAB (CRC, 4th ed., 2009). In addition to the technical books, he has written other books including Secrets of Successful Marriages, How to Discover Gods Will for Your Life, and commentaries on all the books of the New Testament Bible.
