My poems are\ninspired by the found word; fortune cookies, passing billboards, my\nteenage diaries, made up and mis-heard songs, overheard\nconversations, grocery lists, and all other manner of words heard or\nseen in serendipitous encounters. I use collage to create a sacred\nspace for these images and words, ancient and new. I feed myself\nfound words and images; digesting, reconstructing, honoring form\nand phrase, creating a sacred place for each, and then gluing every\none down in its rightful place.\nAll the text\/poetry in the book is inspired from the found object and\nthe objet d'art: fortune cookies, passing billboards, teenage diaries,\nmade up songs sung around the house, overheard conversations,\nmistaken musical lyrics from childhood, and all other manner of\nserendipitous encounters. ~R.L.
