Lauren Coodley has been an instructor at Napa Valley College since she was hired to teach upvalley psychology classes in l975. She began teaching Basic Skills classes when she received tenure in l983, and developed programs in overcoming math anxiety for Napa College students.In l996, she returned to Sonoma State for a second MA, this time in history. In 2003, she was awarded the McPherson Award for Distinguished Teaching. In 2004, she published two books-- Napa: the Transformation of an American Town and The Land of Orange Groves and Jails: Upton Sinclair's California .Sheis currently the Chair of the Social Sciences Division at Napa Valley College.
