Andrew Grubb is a Senior Immigration Judge in the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. Prior to taking up a judicial post, he was Professor of Medical law and Head of Cardiff Law School, Cardiff University. Previously, he was Professor of Health Care Law and Director of the Center of Medical Law and Ethics Kings College London and lecturer at Cambridge University. He has been a visiting Professor at Boston University and the University of New Mexico Law Schools. He has been a member of a number of bioethics bodies including the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority and the Ethics Committee of the Royal College of Physicians. He was editor of the Medical Law Review between 1992 and 2004.
Judith Laing is a lecturer in law at the University of Bristol. She previously taught at Cardiff Law School and the University of Liverpool. Her research and teaching interests lie primarily in tort, criminal and medical law and she has a particular interest in mental health law. She has a number of publications in peer reviewed journals and edited collections, and her PhD thesis was published by OUP in 1999. She assisted Professor Andrew Grubb with the second edition of Principles of Medical Law, as well as co-writing one of the chapters.She has been an Assistant Editor of the Medical law Review and Case Note Editor of the Journal of Social Welfare and Family Law.
Jean McHale is Professor of Health Care Law and Director of the Institute of Medical Law at University of Birmingham Law School. She has taught previously at the Universities of Leciester, East Anglia, Nottingham and Manchester. Her research interests are in the area of health care law. She is a member of the editorial board of the Medical Law Review
