Real Bios: Lionel Messi by Marie Morreale
As the biggest star in the world's most popular sport, Lionel "Leo" Messi is an international celebrity. They will also learn how he got his start as a soccer player and how he became an international superstar.Marie J. Morreale, OTR/L, CHT has taught occupational therapy assistant (OTA) students at Rockland Community College, State University of New York in Suffern, for more than 15 years. Marie presently teaches Professional Issues and Documentation and Geriatric Fundamentals as an adjunct faculty member in the OTA program. She has also taught Occupational Therapy Skills, Advanced Occupational Therapy Skills, Therapeutic Activities, and Advanced Therapeutic Activities in the OTA program over the years. Marie has made important contributions to curriculum development and served as the OTA Program's interim coordinator. Marie received her Summa Cum Laude diploma from Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Connecticut (now Quinnipiac University).
She has worked in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, long-term care, adult day care, home health, cognitive rehabilitation, and hand therapy, among other occupational therapy settings. Marie has been a Registered Hand Therapist for 20 years and has also worked on a home health professional advisory group for numerous years, where she provided quality assurance advice. The OTA's Guide to Documentation: Composing SOAP Notes, Third Edition and The OTA's Guide to Writing SOAP Notes, Second Edition are two OTA textbooks that Marie co-authored. She has also contributed a chapter on documentation to The Occupational Therapy Manager, Fifth Edition, as well as various occupational therapy articles and two online continuing education courses.
Marie is involved in her religion and appreciates all things linked to travel.
