The Years of Living Dangerously by Stephen Vines

Vines paints a picture of greed, ignorance and stupidity, challenging some of the well established myths about Asian economies, Asian companies during the 1990s and Asian markets. He puts into perspective the events which plunged Asian economies into chaos. He tries to make sense about what happened, to explain how the crisis occurred, why it was so devastating, but, more importantly what were and are the underlying forces that gave birth to the crisis and remain in place ready to cause more chaos, or at least more problems.
Stephen Vines is one of the best-know foreign correspondents in EAst Asia and the only one to have combined writing about the region with running a successful business. He was the founding editor of Eastern Express and has worked for a number of other leading publications including the Observer, the Guardian and the Independent. He is also the Contributing Editor, Asia, for the New York-base Daily Deal newspaper.
