In the first chapter of this book we are given straightforward instructions and clear diagrams of techniques. It details what materials are required and gives useful design tips. The beginner could start immediately. What follows is the Pattern Library - one thousand, one hundred and ten beautifully produced diagrams of motifs arranged in a dozen categories...The book is a handy size and has a sturdy hard-back cover. The spiral bound spine is also covered, which avoids the usual spiral binding problem of snagging and catching.
There is so much to choose: In Tropical Birds the parrots are brilliant; in Borders there are Indian, American, Chinese and Floral Sampler borders; then there are various decorative alphabets. It's difficult to decide whether to start with the daffodils or the bee and hive patterns, or perhaps the geometric knot patterns...
