Tracy Letts's play August: Osage County was first performed by Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago in June 2007.

It was first staged in the UK at the National Theatre in 2008.

Tracy Letts is an American playwright, screenwriter and actor, and is an ensemble member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. He is the author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play August: Osage County. Other plays include: Killer Joe (1993), Bug (1996), Superior Donuts (2008), Mary Page Marlowe (2016) and Linda Vista (2017).
