Summary
This story is set in York in 1087. Domesday Commissioners Ralph Delchard and Gervase Bret are sent from London to investigate a land dispute, but instead discover a series of dark events and a growing conflict between the aristocracy and a group of outlaws which culminates in a shocking murder.
