Extensively revised and fully updated, this new edition of the Oxford Handbook of Rheumatology provides everything you need to understand the wide range of rheumatic conditions. Including the latest guidelines and the most up-to-date information, this is the indispensible guide for students, trainees, consultant rheumatologists, and everyone dealing with patients with musculoskeletal disease. Rheumatic conditions are common in both general and hospital practice; a primary feature of many multi-system illnesses, and in the context of injury, age-related change, and psychological distress. This handbook provides practical advice, guidance, and key clinical facts to help you provide the best care for your patients. Practically structured, the handbook focuses first on presenting symptoms, and then considers key diseases, emergencies, and rare diseases in more detail, finishing with a comprehensive account of assessment, guidelines, and treatment options including the latest advances in biological therapy. It provides practical guidelines on the management and diagnosis of patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal disease. Colour plates and line drawings are present throughout along with tables of key information. Taking a clinical, evidence-based approach, written by experts, and presented in a clear, practical, bullet-point style for rapid reference, this handbook will be your constant companion and a joy to use.

Oxford Handbook of Rheumatology Reviews

This is an indispensible, comprehensive and extremely practical guide and reference tool and would be a valuable companion for everyone dealing with patients with musculoskeletal disease. * Orthopaedic Product News *
The book provides an outstanding review of all major topics relevant to rheumatology. It is definitely a book worth keeping close by for anyone training in rheumatology. * Doody's Reviews *
Review from previous edition This is a comprehensive pocket size text that no self-respecting healthcare professional working in this field should be without. * Nursing Standard *
Review from previous edition This is invaluable to anyone who is new to the specialty, or who sees occasional rheumatic problems ... It is essentially the first concise but readable text outlining how to evaluate commonly presenting rheumatic complaints that I have come across, which as a trainee I found practically very useful. Hence I unreservedly recommend this book to general practitioners, certainly junior doctors training in rheumatology and indeed any physician with an active interest in the specialty. * Rheumatology *
Review from previous edition ... offers a welcome addition to the practitioner's library because of its handy, pocket-sized format... a practical, clinically-oriented guide that can be rapidly and easily consulted. * Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology *
Review from previous edition For those whose orthopaedic shelves are well-weighted, there will be probably still a gap for this most valuable source of all those conditions which are not to be found in orthopaedic texts, but which present in predominant numbers to every orthopaedic clinic...here is a book shorn of obscure phrases, giving clear descriptions of every condition causing pain in limbs, the physical signs required to make the diagnosis and a sceptical analysis of each as an entry ... essential reading for everyone in surgical orthopaedics. * Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Vol 89-B *
