Cancer Care in the Hospital Summary

Cancer Care in the Hospital by Barry W. Hancock

The Chief Medical Officer's Expert Advisory Group on Cancer has recently published its consultation document: A Policy Framework for Commissioning Cancer Services. One of its main recommendations is that in order that all cancer patients should have access to uniformly high standards of care, cancer centres and cancer units should be established to provide an integrated network of care. The proper co-ordination of such services will depend on multi-disciplinary teams of specialist oncology workers. This book is aimed at these professionals - to provide basic knowledge for those in training and as a concise but comprehensive source of information for qualified staff. It covers, in lecture note form, the broad spectrum of current knowledge on the cause, investigation and management of cancer in all its forms.
