Competition between countries is likely to increase. Whilst this may lead to conflict it could also facilitate greater creativity. This in turn will put a premium on technological advancement and on our ability to respond rapidly to change. Simultaneously, regionalism, possibly based on city regions rather than nation states, will develop and localities could become more distinctive and potentially aggressive.
