About Desmond Lynam

Eamonn Holmes was born in Belfast and is a lifelong fan of Manchester United. In 1986 he was one of the faces who launched daytime TV on BBC1, and during the late eighties and early nineties he hosted various shows for the BBC, ranging from 'The National Lottery' to 'Songs of Praise'. He has since become Britain's longest serving breakfast host. He has also covered numerous national sports events for television and on radio and currently hosts the Saturday morning sports show on Radio 5 Live. He left GMTV in May 2005
