When 14-year-old Helena goes to stay in a remote seaside village to look after 7-year-old Trevor, she joins the local amateur dramatics society. She notices something odd about its members, whom Trevor claims he cannot see, and soon discovers that they are actually the ghosts of the wartime cast.
