About Geoff Payne

GEOFF PAYNE is Professor of Sociology at the University of Plymouth where he was also Dean of Faculty of Human Sciences for seventeen years. He has published inter alia on class, employment, health and community, including New Directions in the Sociology of Health (Falmer, 1990, with P. Abbott) and Sociology in Action (Macmillan, 1994, with M. Cross). He is currently working on industrial, occupational and class changes in post-industrial society.
