Now a major television series This collection presents twelve further stories about the deeds and misdeeds of Uncle Silas, the old countryman with the gargantuan appetite and thirst, the button-bright eye for a pretty girl, and the prodigious memory to which his fertile imagination is accomplice. The original drawings by Edward Ardizzone included in this edition, once again capture perfectly that gnarled quality and sly charm which make Silas the most entertaining and popular of all rural rogues.
