In addition, it analyzes the composition of Brazil's avifauna and relates it to the country's geography.

About Helmut Sick

Helmut Sick (1910-1991) was Curator of Birds at the National Museum in Rio de Janeiro and Titular Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. William Belton, a retired Foreign Service Officer, is an elected member of the American Ornithological Union and Honorary Vice President of the International Council for Bird Preservation.
