It is illustrated with work from the period 1848 to 1914. Jan Marsh has published biographical studies of Jan and May Morris and the models, mistresses and wives of the Pre-Raphelite painters in The Pre-Raphaelite Sisterhood. Pamela Gerrish Nunn is an art historian who has concentrated on the 19th century and has written Canvassing and Victorian Women Artists.
