This pack contains practical activities covering helping at home; helping at school; keeping healthy; keeping us safe; bringing our food; and making our world beautiful. As well as likely helpers such as the police, fire-fighters and lollipop people, more unusual roles are highlighted, such as opticians, park-keepers and farmers. There are eight photocopiable activity sheets plus ideas for displays and assemblies. The resources section provides lively action rhymes, poems, stories and songs, all based on the People Who Help Us theme. A topic web shows how all the activities relate to the National Curriculum and Scottish 5-14 Guidelines subject areas.
