The King's golden apples are being stolen and his three sons are determined to catch the thief. But when the culprit turns out to be the fabulous Firebird, the young princes must each set out on a quest to find it. In this lively re-telling of a traditional Russian folk-tale, we follow the adventures of the youngest son, Prince Ivan, as he pursues the shining Firebird from which he managed to grasp a single feather. The colour and drama of this Russian tale are vividly brought to life by the illustrations of the Czech artist Jindra Capek.
