Winter in Rogate-on-Sands. For local investigator Harry Thompson, his homeward journey proves dangerous, as he helps a woman being attacked at a service station. She disappears, and soon murder and mayhem are brought to sleepy Rogate as Harry and the police both race to solve a crime.
