The Ecrins National Park (French Alps) by Kev Reynolds

Easily accessible by public transport, and with several picturesque valleys in which to make a base, this, the largest national park in France, offers a selection of walks - each one revealing breathtaking views. They include a full exploration of the valleys of the Romanche, Guisane, Vallouise, Valgaudemar and Veneon, with clear mapping of each valley.

The Ecrins National Park (French Alps) Reviews

'The book will be invaluable to those visiting the area for the first time and wanting a one, two or more centre walking holiday, rather than moving on day by day along a long distance trail. The work is of the usual high standard now expected of Britain's most prolific guidebook writer to the Alps. There is plenty of information about the area and the book is well illustrated with both colour and black and white photographs, which demonstrate the beauty of this superb region of the French Alps.' (Alan Castle, Strider) 'This guide covers the five main valleys of the Ecrins ... and describes 70 of the best walks in the region...aimed not only at the experienced Alpine walker, but also at the active hill-walker visiting the Alps for the first time.' About Kev Reynolds

A lifelong passion for the countryside in general, and mountains in particular, drives Kev's desire to share his sense of wonder and delight in the natural world through his writing, guiding, photography and lecturing. Spending several months each year among various high mountain regions researching guidebooks, makes him The Man with the World's Best Job; a title he aims to keep by remaining active for another 100 years at least. Kev has enjoyed a fruitful partnership with Cicerone since the 1970s, producing walking and trekking guides to the Pyrenees, Alps and Himalaya, as well as walking guides for Kent, Sussex and the Cotswolds and he has several more books in the pipeline. A frequent contributor to outdoor magazines, he also writes and illustrates brochures for national tourist authorities and travel companies. When not away in the mountains, Kev lives with his wife in a small cottage among what he calls 'the Kentish Alps' with unrestricted walking country on the doorstep. But he also travels throughout Britain during the winter months to share his love of the places he writes about through a series of lectures. Check him out on www.kevreynolds.co.uk
