Nina, a successful fund manager, is sent to South Africa to search for new investments in the post-Apartheid era. There for the first time in her life she falls heavily in love with charismatic Wolf. She throws up her career and settles in to the wealthy white community, and when their son Nicky is born it seems life could not be bettered. Then Wolf disappears with Nicky and Nina discovers he has left behind a web of fraudulent debt, but nothing is as important as finding her son.
