The Good Beach Guide: 1991 by Marine Conservation Society
Divided regionally (including Northern Ireland), the book is a family guide to the best of British beaches. Following a brief description of the surrounding countryside are details of water quality, bathing safety, parking and access, toilets and food, wildlife and walks plus suggestions on what to do if it's raining. The book also contains the water results for all beaches monitored in Britain, so even if your local beach has not been included as a major guide, the reader can tell at a glance is it's polluted or not by using the Golden List Chart. All water information is based on the EEC standard for clean bathing.
