How to Draw: Leprechauns Summary

How to Draw: Leprechauns by Michael Terry

All drawing is based on simple beginnings and the construction of lines and shapes. Michael Terry shows how easy it is to draw a great selection of leprechauns in different poses and situations. Using initial basic geometric shapes, he uses two contrasting colours to build up each stage, finishing with a complete image and a full colour version of the leprechaun for artists who require colour references.

28 of these mischievous little folk are included, some with pots of gold, some shoemaking, others resting quietly, or going about their daily business. Even absolute beginners will be able to create great drawings following these illustrations.

How to Draw: Leprechauns Reviews

March 09

Another one from the popular How to Draw range, this time Michael shows us in a series of simple steps how to create cheeky and lively leprechauns. He uses a simple method of shapes joined together by lines to show us how easy it is to draw these little folk. There are 28 of them in all in a variety of positions from the traditional shoemaking, to holding pots of gold, peeping out from trees and hedges to playing a number of different musical instruments.

The beauty of this book is that like all the How to Draw series it's so simple to follow each step. The first step is drawn in an ochre colour and subsequent steps in a purple, with the last step changing back to ochre. Its incredibly easy for even a very beginner to create great drawings following Michaels' simple instructions.
