It is an introductory text intended for those who are totally new to the subject and/or who seek a familiarity rather than a full working knowledge. The emphasis is on operations - an approach which is equally relevant to service, transport and supply system management, as well as production/ manufacturing management. Each of these is considered as a function of operations, and the material throughout relates to these functions.
