In keeping with the ethos of the examination, the book focuses intensively on the application of the basic sciences (anatomy, physiology, pathology, microbiology and pharmacology) to the management of surgical patients. Much emphasis has been placed on the physiological and pharmacological basis of post-operative care, ITU care, as well as the anatomical basis of commonly undertaken ward procedures and surical operations.
