Welcome to New Luddle, a small, self-sufficient colony tucked away in a corner of the world's largest economic superpower. Here the tomatoes are ripe, the tea is plentiful and life is perfect . or so it seems. On the dawn of his fifteenth birthday Sun Saluki contemplates his future working in the fields, providing for his community and revealing his true feelings for the outspoken Daisy Spaniel. But an unexpected event at Mrs Beagle's tea morning turns life in New Luddle upside down, forcing the residents to confront dark secrets from the colony's past - and its present.
