So, they threw in their jobs as TV producers and hit the road on a three month, 30,000 mile romp around North America in search of the heart of their eighties; chasing new memories to replace the old. They saw Rusty from National Lampoon's European Vacation fall arse-over-tit and witnessed Breakfast Club teacher Paul Gleason proclaim the movie as just 'kinda silly'.And in more way than one, Spencer had seen it all before; a Greyhound tour of the USA seven years before haunted him with memories of the estranged love of his life, Elle. This rite of passage journey was to be a total soul cleanse as he realised, finally, that it was over...but not without high drama, tears and sick in Las Vegas.
