Cooking in one dish or pot has obvious advantages. It's fuss-free, simple and usually quick to prepare - even if the actual cooking takes a little while longer. There's also very little clean-up afterwards. Bakes and gratins, roasts, pot roasts, stir-fries, pasta & rice dishes - they all fit into this special category of one-pot dinners.
