Foreign Parts: A Singer's Journal by Thomas Allen
Mozart's bi-centenary in Salzburg in 1991 is the starting point for Thomas Allen's book on his own life, past and present. Allen is regarded as a fine actor, as well as singer and musician. He is renowned for his interpretations, particularly Don Giovanni, and Count Almaviva in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro". Here he offers insights into many such roles and his views on some very different productions and their directors and conductors.
