A suspense novel about an Atlanta policeman's involvement in a suicide case, shortly after his own teenage daughter has killed herself. He soon becomes obsessed with the case and in danger of being destroyed by it. The author's previous novel, Blood Innocents, was nominated for the Edgar Award.
