The Kosovo Crisis Summary

The Kosovo Crisis: The Last American War in Europe? by Tony Weymouth

For courses in politics, international relations, communications and European studies. This book focuses on international responses to the Kosovo conflict. Written by an international group of specialists, it looks at the responses of all of the major players to the crisis, including the UN, NATO and the EU as well as political, military and media reactions of NATO member states Britain, France, Italy, Germany and the USA. Finally, it offers the same perspectives from a Russian standpoint and a view from Serbia itself.

The Kosovo Crisis Reviews

This volume throws light on the war over Kosovo in a comprehensive and interesting way, with contributions by specialists on policies and attitudes in each of the main countries and international organisations involved. A useful book, both for unravelling the tangled web of the war and as background for understanding what may follow. - John Pinder, Chairman, The Federal Trust and Honorary Professor, College of Europe This book captures the complexities of Balkan politics and history. It relates the West's inaction and reaction to a seemingly never-ending regional problem of nationalistic and religious rivalries... It also reveals the current American dilemma - can the USA avoid becoming the world's policeman or does it have a duty and moral responsibility as the world's only super power to intervene in foreign lands for humanitarian reasons. This is a fine and timely book that hopefully will have a wide audience. - Paul M. Green, Director, School of Policy Studies, Roosevelt University, Chicago
