Part 6 Physiology: biophysical definitions; the distribution of water and electrolytes; transport mechanisms; acid-base balance; the cardiovascular system; respiration; the urinary system; the gastrointestinal tract; nutrition; the liver; calcuim metabolism and bone; the nervous system; chemical transmission in the autonomic nervous system and autonomic pharmacology; the blood; rhesus incompatibility. Part 7 Endocrinology: the pancreas; the hypothalamus, pituitary, ovary and menstrual cycle; gonadal steriod hormones; puberty; the menopause; the adrenal glands; the thyroid gland. Part 8 Drugs and drug therapy: the language of clinical pharmacology; factors which influence drug action; therapeutic drug monitoring; some commonly used drugs; analgesia and anaesthesia; drugs which influence uterine activity; drugs in pregnancy; antimitotic drugs. Part 9 The fetus: fetal physiology; placental transfer.
