The Practical Encyclopedia of Watercolour by Wendy Jelbert

Quickly master all the practical aspects of watercolour painting with this comprehensive practical encyclopedia. An informative introduction details all the necessary equipment you will need, from brushes to paints and paper, and lays out all the basic techniques, including the different strokes, washes, and how to mix the paints to create the right palette. This instructive painting course then has over 20 step-by-step projects to help you to put the basics into practice. There are projects to challenge beginners, and others for intermediate painters, grouped by subject - landscapes, still-life, animals and portraits - and by complexity to explore more experimental methods and skills. There is something for water-colourists of all abilities to learn in this accessible book, which will help them take advantage of the medium's considerable potential.
