Fine Just the Way it is by Annie Proulx
The fantastic new collection of stories from the Pulitzer Prize winning author of The Shipping News and Brokeback Mountain.
"The cast of characters is rich and poignant!a moving collection, by turns mythic and contemporary" Times 'Despite their shared backdrop, these tales span cultures and centuries, depicting characters as diverse as a couple of young homesteaders trying to muddle through a harsh 18th century winter, and a woman raised by a '"trash rancher" returning home from IraqNine in all, they vary exhilaratingly in pace, tone and length- in everything that is, but accomplishment.' Daily Mail 'Annie Proulx's superlative writing is showcased once again in these moving bittersweet tales of life in the 19th-century and 20th-century Wyoming.' Independent on Sunday 'The stories may be short, and there are only nine of them in this collection, by Annie Prolix is the last writer one should measure by quantity. It's the limpidity of her observations that never fails to impress.' Telegraph
