The National Gallery by Alice Corkran
1908. No edition remarks. 222 pages. No dust jacket. Brown decorated cloth covered boards with gilt and a portrait pasted on. Contains black and white photographic plates. Publisher's catalog at rear. Top edge of text block dyed. Cracking to gutters, with exposed netting causing the binding to be shaky. Pages remain bright and clear with minimal tanning and foxing, heavier to end-papers and paste-downs. Front free end-paper removed. Liquid damage at spine causing wrinkling to plates and further liquid marks. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Top edge of text block is dust marked. Gilt lettering is darkened. Further marking to both boards.
