Alasdair Scott Sutherland is the author of The Spaghetti Tree: Mario and Franco and the Trattoria Revolution, (Primavera Books, London, 2009) the acclaimed social history of the Italians' 1960s transformation of Britain's restaurant culture. Born in Colombo, Ceylon (Sri Lanka) Alasdair was educated at Tonbridge School and in Ireland and Italy. He was a London restaurateur in the early 1970s but spent the rest of his career with international public relations agencies, in London, Hong Kong, and across Europe. Alasdair and his wife Felicity live in West London.
