John Lockyer has written over 80 children's books both fiction and non-fiction for both general and educational publishers. His most popular titles include Harry and the Anzac Poppy and A Short History of New Zealand both of which have sold over 20,000 copies; The Kiwi, and The Kea, which was shortlisted for the 2002 Elsie Locke award. He is a teacher and lives in Auckland. About the Illustrator: Bob Darroch has illustrated and written eight books all of them still in print. His first book The Kiwi That Was Scared of the Dark has sold over 25,000 copies. Bob lives in Temuka.
