Livingston received a Ph.D. in social psychology from the Ohio State University. He employs social cognitive approaches to studying issues related to diversity and leadership. His work has appeared in major outlets such as Psychological Science, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and Journal of Experimental Social Psychology.
