Rebecca Muddiman is a novelist and scriptwriter, based in Redcar. She is the author of six crime novels, the first of which won a Northern Writers Award in 2010, as well as the Northern Crime Competition in 2012. She won a second Northern Writers Award in 2020 for a comic novel. She was recently shortlisted for Tees Valley Artist of the Year 2025. She is passionate about nature, climate justice and feminism, all of which inspire her work in progress, Life or Death.
