
A 1950s Holiday in Bognor Regis by Sylvia Endacott
Bognor Regis is situated on the south coast of Britain, overlooking the English Channel. On 18 January 1787 the resorts founder, Sir Richard Hotham, laid the first stone marking the town as a public bathing place, a description that Bognor Regis has enjoyed ever since.
Sylvia Endacott gives over forty talks about various aspects of local history all over West Sussex, every year. She has written a wide range of books over the last twenty years, as well as writing a weekly feature in the local press. She is also currently group organizer for the newly formed Bognor Regis U3A. Shirley Lewishas been involved in local history research and exhibitions within the town.
