According to the Rolling Stones by Mick Jagger
For the first time in paperback--and in a great reading edition--here is the real story of the Rolling Stones, as told by the Stones themselves. In their own words, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood get right to the heart of what makes the Stones the Stones, as musicians, songwriters, and performers, describing how their music has evolved, and revealing frankly how their own lives have helped or hindered their music-making. The Stones' own stories are complemented by insider reflections from key players in their story over the years. Also included are 64 pages of vintage photographs. For fans, here's proof that you can sometimes get what you want. (People)Mick Jagger is most recognized for being the lead singer of the Rolling Stones, one of the all-time great rock bands. He has also worked as an actor, film producer, solo singer, and songwriter during his five-decade career. Jagger, Keith Richards, and guitarist Brian Jones formed the Rolling Stones in the early 1960s, with Ian Stewart and later Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman joining them. In 1971, they founded Rolling Stones Records and went on to tour the world, performing in stadiums and arenas. The band reformed after a near-split in the 1980s, and they are still performing and touring today. In 2013, they headlined at Glastonbury and played two sold-out Hyde Park shows to commemorate their 50th anniversary.
Mick Jagger's solo career has been equally successful, with 15 singles and five albums to his credit. In 1968, he made his acting debut in Nic Roeg's cult classic Performance, as well as the 1970 biography Ned Kelly. After that, he moved into production, and in 1995, he co-founded Jagged Films with Victoria Pearman. Enigma, The Lady, and Being Mick, a documentary about Mick Jagger, are among the company's works.
Jagger has also co-produced a number of documentaries, including Come On Up, a 2014 film about James Brown. Mick Jagger was knighted in 2003 for contributions to music & was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.
