The second section of the book looks forward to the future of iconographies taking in contributions from specialists working in a wide variety of fields. It includes sections on developing iconographies for the deaf and visually impaired, as well as systems of notation of movement from choreography, physiotherapy and music.

Rosemary Sassoon is an expert in handwriting, with a particular emphasis on that of children. She is the author of a number of books on handwriting and is also the creator of the Sassoon series of typefaces.
