Edward Bradley (1827-1889) was an English novelist and clergyman. He was born in Kidderminster and educated at Durham University (from which he took his pen name). He wrote under the name of Cuthbert M. Bede, B.A. a few novels and tales among which are: Fairy Fables (1858), Nearer And Dearer (1858), Glencraggan (1861), The White Wife (1868), and Fotheringhay (1885). His most popular book was The Adventures of Mr. Verdant Green (1853), on the experiences of an Oxford undergraduate.
