Fred Walker has an engineering background and, having nursed his wife in her journey through Alzheimer's disease, is using his knowledge to lecture to clubs such as Rotary, Probus, TWGs, WI etc. to raise funds and to raise awareness of the disease. He has, to date, raised over GBP20,000 to fund research and has been made a Volunteer Champion of Alzheimer's Research UK. Dr Chris Pomfrett is a Clinical Scientist and was lecturer in Neurophysiology applied to Anaesthesia at the University of Manchester for 20 years and is an authority on variant Creutzfeld Jacob disease. He now works for NICE where he has a specialist interest in medical devices used for monitoring anaesthesia and diagnosing degenerative diseases of the nervous system. He was recently installed President of the Royal Society of Medicine, Anaesthesia Section.
