Amazon by Dennison Berwick
Dennison Berwick spent nine months travelling down the 4000 miles of the Amazon and this book describes, among other things, how his life was threatened by one tribal chieftain, while he was adopted by another. The author has also written "A Walk Along The Ganges".
Storyteller and nomad Dennison Berwick has learned by hard experience the rules on how to get away from it all without going anywhere. He founded Still Life Retreat, a non-denominational retreat centre, and edited and published the Canadian Retreat Guide. He has also walked solo 2000 miles along the Ganges, India's sacred river, and traveled extensively in the Amazon. He now lives on a 32-foot sailboat Kuan Yin. Simone Pertuiset is a mother of three and, in her spare time, a manager and technical writer! In a previous life, she spent 7 years circumnavigating the world in a 31ft sailboat. Now landlocked in Ontario, Canada, she's discovered you don't need to leave home to enjoy a successful vacation. A holiday is a state of mind and spirit. But it also takes a fresh point of view and creative ideas.
