America's Songs by Philip Furia
Presents the stories behind the most beloved popular songs of the last century. This book, along with telling the stories, suggests, simply and succinctly, what makes a song great. It describes the way each great song melds words and music, sentiment and melody, into a seamless whole. It also traces the mysterious process of collaboration."This terrific book looks at the backstories of the great standards in American popular music... You'll LOVE this book!" --"Book Bit" WTBF Radio
