Among Islands by Jim Crumley

Reflecting on 25 years of travelling around the islands of Scotland, the author of this book recounts the time he has spent island-lingering, from Shetland and Orkney in the north, to Islay and Jura in the south. The author calls for a more considered and caring attitude towards these landscapes, their wildlife tribes and the human communities which inhabit them.

His new Encounters in the Wild series, published by Saraband, sees Jim get up close and personal with Britain's favourite animals. The Nature of Autumn (2016) was longlisted for the Wainwright Golden Beer Book Prize and was shortlisted for the Richard Jefferies Society and White Horse Bookshop Literary Prize. His latest book is The Nature of Winter (2017).
