AQA GCSE History: Understanding the Modern World by David Ferriby
Create a stimulating, well-paced teaching route through the 2016 GCSE History specification using this tailor-made series that draws on a legacy of market-leading history textbooks and the individual subject specialisms of the author team to inspire student success. When I received my copy of Understanding the Modern World I was pleased to see that the headings are clear, the layout of the pages is effective and the content is summarised in a manner which will be accessible to students.
I like the number of supporting visuals throughout the book, particularly the maps and infographics that complement the written information. I also like the Focus Tasks and Think boxes which will be nice activities for students to complete in lessons or at home.
I'm pleased to see examples of practice questions supporting the text and the Assessment Focus sections at the end of the chapters are fantastic. This will really help with the teaching of exam technique.
A very well thought through and insightful book. Makes it easy to understand and also easy for students to access. -- History Teacher, The Wren School
